Based on the current market situation Coscon would like to introduce a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on all shipments.

From Far East (including Japan) & IPBC Area to North West Europe PSS will be USD 350.00/TEU on all types of containers, also reefer units.

PSS will be effective as from June 8th, 2012 till further notice.

Based on the changing oil prices please kindly be advised that Coscon decided to adjust Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) as following:

EBS will be USD 270.00/TEU applicable on all shipments to/from Far East (including Japan) & IPBC from/to North West Europe.

EBS will be USD 246.00/TEU applicable on all shipments to/from Far East (including Japan) & IPBC from/to Mediterranean (including Israel, Lebanon, Syria, North Africa & Black Sea Region).

New EBS will be applicable on all container types and will be effective as from June 1st, 2012.

GRI will be USD 425.00/TEU on all container types.

The GRI will be effective as from May 1st, 2012.

Based on the current market situation Coscon would like to introduce a General Rate Increase (GRI) on all shipments from North West Europe & Mediterranean (including Israel, Lebanon, Syria, North Africa & Black Sea Region) to Far East (including Japan) & IPBC.

GRI will be USD 150.00/20' and USD 300/40'.

GRI will be applicable on all container types (including reefer units) and will be effective as from March 1st, 2012.

New EBS will be applicable on all container types and will be effective as from February 1st, 2012.

Added 12/12/2011:
As a consequence of major increase in the costs for transiting the Suez Canal in 2012 Coscon decided to adjust the Suez Canal Transit Surcharge for all shipments from Europe & Mediterranean to Far East, IPBC Area & Oceania effective as from February 1st, 2012 (B/L date).

The present surcharge of USD 9.00/TEU will increase to USD 20.00/TEU and will be applicable on all container types.

Added 12/12/2011:
Considering the increasing costs and market situation Coscon decided to adjust China THC/THD & ORC for all shipments to/from NW-Europe & Mediterranean (including Israel, Lebanon, Syria, North Africa & Black Sea Region) from/to PRC China.

China THC CNY 600.00/20' & CNY 900.00/40' for standard & special containers will be adjusted to CNY 700.00/20' & CNY 1050.00/40' for standard & special containers.
New levels will be effective as from January 9th, 2012.

China THC CNY 700.00/20' & CNY 1050.00/40' for reefers will be adjusted to CNY 825.00/20' & CNY 1200.00/40' for reefers.
New levels will be effective as from January 9th, 2012.

From South China (including Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan and Hainan provinces), no THC is applicable but ORC, which is applicable, will be adjusted for all shipments as from January 9th, 2012:
CNY 1000.00/20' & CNY 1850.00/40' for standard & special containers will adjust to CNY 1100.00/20' & CNY 1900.00/40'.
ORC CNY 1250.00/20' & CNY 2350.00/40' for reefers will remain the same.

As from August 23rd, 2011 till further notice new level is:
Pasir Gudang - MYR 350.00/20' & MYR 520.00/40'
(previous level MYR 335.00/20'& MYR 500.00/40')
reefers remain at MYR 495.00/20' & MYR 735.00/40'

With reference to port congestion at the port of Tokyo, Japan as posted on 29/03/2011 please be guided that the Port Congestion Surcharge (applicable on all shipments from Europe & Mediterranean to Tokyo, Japan and effective since April 1st, 2011) has been cancelled as from July 15th, 2011.

all Italian ports: EUR 145.00
all Spanish ports (except Bilbao/Vigo/Gijon): EUR 160.00

Due to adverse situation in Aden Gulf Area Coscon decide to adjust Aden Gulf Surcharge (AGS) to USD 55.00/TEU (previously uSD 40.00/TEU) on all shipments from/to Far East (including Oceania) & IPBC Area to/from Europe & Mediterranean Area (including Black Sea Region, West Africa Region, North Africa Region & Canary Islands).

This new level will be applicable as from April 15th, 2011 till further notice.

Due to East Japan earthquake and tsunami Coscon suffered from slow operation and serious congestion at the port of Tokyo, Japan.
Therefore Coscon wants to inform the trade of the application of a port congestion surcharge of USD 100.00/TEU on all shipments from Europe & Mediterranean to Tokyo, Japan effective as from April 1st, 2011 till further notice.

Considering the market situation Coscon decided to adjust China THC/THD for all shipments to/from NW-Europe & Mediterranean (including Israel, Lebanon, Syria, North Africa & Black Sea Region) from/to China.

China THC CNY 450.00/20' & CNY 700.00/40' for standard and special containers will be adjusted to CNY 475.00/20' & CNY 750.00/40' for standard and special containers.

To/from all Chinese provinces except South China adjustment is as from June 15th, 2010.

To South China (including Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan and Hainan provinces) as from July 1st, 2010.
From South China no THC is applicable but ORC which is applicable remains unchanged at USD 141.00/20' and USD 269.00/40'.

Reefer THC remains unchanged: CNY 525.00/20' & CNY 850.00/40' for reefer containers. Also reefer ORC remains unchanged: USD 181.00/20' and USD 344.00/40'.

Added 28/04/2008:
Coscon herewith informs the market of the adjustment of the Heavy Weight surcharge effective from 1st of May 2008 on all westbound shipments from PRC/Far East to EUR-MED Area.
Following levels will be applied:

A/ cargo weight (excluding container tare) as from 18 mtons and under 23 mtons: USD 200.00/20'
B/ cargo weight (excluding container tare) as from 23 mtons upto max. payload: USD 350.00/20'

In addition each 20' shipment as from 20 mtons cargo weight is subject to final written acceptance by Coscon headoffice.

Added 24/04/2008:
As a consequence of major increases in the costs for transiting the Suez Canal, Coscon will now also introduce a Suez Canal Transit surcharge of USD 9.00/TEU for all shipments from Europe & Mediterranean to Far East & IPBC Area effective as from 5th of May 2008.
This surcharge was already effective on all shipments from Far East & IPBC Area to Europe & Mediterranean as from 1st of April 2008.

Seen shortage is further increasing in the Fujian Province, the Premium of USD 100.00 (effective from June 15th,2007) will increase to USD 250.00 effective as from June 27th 2007 & applicable from the ports Fuzhou/Mawei, Xiamen and Quanzhou.
Premium will be cancelled as from September 20th, 2007.

Coscon would like to remind the second step of the three stage increase of the Westbound Business Plan for all shipments from IPBC to N.W.-Europe & Mediterranean (including Israel) effective as from July 1st 2007 is USD 200.00/TEU.

Seen continuous heavy shortage OF 20'dry in the North PRC Coscon decides to increase the 20'dry premium (TCP) from USD 150.00 (which was applicable since April 1st 2007) to USD 250.00 for all shipments from north ports (Yantai, Lianyungang, Dalian, Qingdao, Weihai, Qinhuangdao, Yingkou, Tianjin/Xingang) to Europe & Mediterranean, effective from June 27th 2007.

Seen shortage is further increasing in the Fujian province the premium of USD 100.00 (effective since June 15th) will increase to USD 250.00 effective as from June 27th & applicable from the ports Fuzhou/Mawei, Xiamen and Quanzhou.

Seen also shortage of 20'dry in the Yangtze River area a premium of USD 250.00 will be effective as from June 25th and will be applicable for all shipments to Europe & Mediterranean with origin from following Yangtze River ports: Luzhou, Chongqing, Wanzhou, Fuling, Yichang, Shashi, Yueyang, Changde, Zhuzhou, Changsha, Xiangtan, Nanchang, Wuhan, Huangshi, Jiujiang, Anqing, Tongling, Wuhu, Maanshan, Nanjing, Changzhou, Jiangyin, Zhenjiang, Yangzhou, Taizhou, Zhangjiagang, Changshu, Nantong, Taicang, Huzhou, Wuxi, Zhapu).

Considering the present market situation of heavy weight cargo shipments on the westbound trade to Mediterranean (inclusive Egypt & West-African ports) and Europe Coscon announces that a 20'ft heavy cargo surcharge will be implemented for all shipments as from 1st of May 2007.
Loading areas & surcharge levens as follows:

1. North China (Yantai, Lianyungang, Dalian, Qingdao, Weihai, Qinhuangdao, Yingkou, Tianjin/Xingang): USD 350.00/20'FT (weight over 14Ton/unit not inclusive tare weight).
2. East China/South China (incl. Fujian province): USD 300.00/20'FT (weight over 14Ton/unit not inclusive tare weight).
3. South East Asia/Japan/Korea/Taiwan/IPBC: USD 200.00/20'FT (weight over 18Ton/unit not inclusive tare weight).
4. All cargo weight over 20Ton/20'FT unit should get confirmation by Coscon Head Quarters before accept booking.
5. For all the equipment type of 20'FT.

Added 24/04/2007:
In an effort to be more transparent in the pricing structure for freight rates to/from Vietnam, Coscon decides to introduce a Terminal Handling Charge (THC) in Vietnam in the amount of USD 65.00/20' and USD 98.00/40' with effect from 1st May 2007.
The THC, which represents the costs incurred in loading/discharging containers at Vietnamese container ports from stack to ship's hold or vice versa and will be shown as a seperate charge on future shipping line documentation. Payment of this THC portion will be subject to mutual arrangement between the buyer and seller of the cargo in the shipment.
The THC introduction is a commercial issue that intends to bring Vietnamese shipping business practices in line with norms being applied in all other Asian countries. It is believed that this THC introduction will further benefit Vietnamese imports and exports as it will enable ocean freight rates to be priced based on service quality and market/supply conditions.
