As a consequence of major increase in the costs for transiting the Suez Canal in 2012 Coscon decided to adjust the Suez Canal

like to introduce a General Rate Increase (GRI) on all waste shipments from North West Europe & Mediterranean (inclusive Israel,
Lebanon, Syria, North Africa & Black Sea Region) to Far East (including Japan) & IPBC.
GRI will be USD 100.00/container.
This GRI will be applicable on all container types and will be effective as from January 1st, 2010.

Considering the market situation Coscon decided to implement China THD (= THC at destination port) for all shipments from NW-Europe
& Mediterranean (including Israel, Lebanon, Syria, North Africa & Black Sea Region) to South China (including Guangdong, Guangxi,
Yunnan and Hainan provinces).
China THC will be:
CNY 450.00/20' & CNY 700.00/40' for standard & special containers
CNY 525.00/20' & CNY 850.00/40' for reefer containers
The new level will be applicable as from January 1st, 2010.

Added 24/04/2007:
In an effort to be more transparent in the pricing structure for freight rates to/from Vietnam,
Coscon decides to introduce a Terminal Handling Charge (THC) in Vietnam in the amount
of USD 65.00/20' and USD 98.00/40' with effect from 1st May 2007.
The THC, which represents the costs incurred in loading/discharging containers at Vietnamese
container ports from stack to ship's hold or vice versa and will be shown as a seperate charge
on future shipping line documentation. Payment of this THC portion will be subject to mutual
arrangement between the buyer and seller of the cargo in the shipment.
The THC introduction is a commercial issue that intends to bring Vietnamese shipping business
practices in line with norms being applied in all other Asian countries. It is believed that
this THC introduction will further benefit Vietnamese imports and exports as it will enable
ocean freight rates to be priced based on service quality and market/supply conditions.
